Petit Biscuit (real name Mehdi Benjelloun) is a 16 year old artist from France. He garnered huge support very early on from listeners online as well as from multiple YouTube channels (such as Electroposé - Mr Suicide Sheep - MrSuicideSheep #2 - Dealer De musique – MrRevillz - and many more), which have propelled his music to a global audience even before the release of his first EP ( “Petit Biscuit”) in May 2016, soon to be re-released in vinyl format. The video for the head-turning track ‘Sunset Lover’ (which in included in the EP) is available now on all video services. In it, Mehdi is seen in his daily life as well as on stage, with sparks running along his body and eyes throughout. As a fan of Nils Frahm, he excels in giving sampled voices a unique treatment. Mehdi records sounds with his friends, then edits and mixes them until they become autonomous instruments. Thanks to years of training at the Conservatory (French classical music school), Mehdi learned the cello, piano and guitar as well as music theory. In turn, Petit Biscuit is able to play himself all the parts present in his songs in the studio and on stage. His live show is where he truly shines, bridging acoustic and electronic music together. Petit Biscuit brings his audience with him in a vibrant odyssey, with his songs displaying an exotic sensibility while being strangely familiar to the ear. His tracks started to travel too, being shared organically by millions of listeners : 'Sunset Lover' already has over 50+ million streams globally, and is being added to several highly-followed playlists. As of early September, the track is in the Spotify France top20 charts and Shazam France top100, although radio support there is only starting now. Great tastemaker radios have also played it all over the world : Beats1 (Apple Music), BBC1 (UK), TripleJ (Australia), PureFM (Belgium), Couleur3 (Switzerland), P3 (Sweden).
